30 Goals In 30 Days
[#14] Svob Park

Robert M “Bob” Svob park sits on the quaint Vineyard Road,
and hosts basketball, baseball and soccer games daily.
This football goal sits on the East end of the field.
These grounds are fairly manicured, and watered by flood irrigation.
Once the sun goes down, there is pick-up games a-plenty.

[#12] Haven Middle School

Early Saturday morning, while driving past my old school,
I had to stop and take a shot of the fields where I used to play.
Truthfully, I don’t know which story to begin telling.
There are too many beautiful ones.

This is one of the better facilities in the Chicago area
when it comes to watching and playing indoor matches.
The surface is of quality, and the top to bottom plexiglas
makes for a very watchable event.

When I was a boy in the 1970’s, growing up in Evanston,
these fields were dominated by baseball diamonds.
In the year 2010, it is a Football [Soccer] Future
in the United States of America.
These well maintained pitches are a sign
of more positive things to come in the States.

[#9] West Rogers Park Alley

A week before Christmas in 2008,
these youths were playing soccer [football] in the alley
behind my home. Their laughter and smiles are what
really stood out to me. Not to mention all the slide
tackling into the deep snow.

Next the furthest player, is the goal – which was a spare tire.

the pace of the football match equalled the pace
of the people crossing the intersection.
Life was moving at an amazing and beautiful beat.

[#5] Mangere Domain : Football Field

This beautiful field is located in Mangere Domain, New Zealand.
Built upon what would have been a Pā (pronounced Pah),
A traditional Maori village, that was built upon a hill.
This hillfort would have been encircled with palisades and terraces.
