To Our Dear and Loving Friend • Marci Susan Wilcher (Horwich)

filed under: memoriam — christopher @ 16:52 Wed

With tremendous respect and love, Marci Horwich will be forever
remembered. A true friend of mine she was, her laughter and
manner could always brighten the day, no matter what the mood,
and her support for me through my difficult times was always loving,
patient and true. I cannot believe she is gone. All my Love and Blessings
to the many amazing people survived by her; the Wilcher’s and
the Horwich’s, my prayers are with you on this day and always.

  1. amen.

she will always be warmly remembered & tremendously missed…
but, thankfully, that smile will live forever
in the hearts of her friends & on the faces of her children.

  2. Many great memories of Marci stick out to me…the first was when she, as a customer at Sound Warehouse, approached and asked me if I had the latest Black Uhuru tape…I checked in the back room…we did have it but I couldn’t sell it to her until a later date the next week.

That Saturday, I noticed her sitting across from me on the first day of training for Rape Recovery Project, an organization founded by my friend Jane Zari and some of her friends…we looked at each other and had one of those “I know you” moments. We became friends and endured an emotional rollercoaster during the next few weeks of training as the subject matter was extremely intense…but we were a part of something great in Chicago during the early 90’s…she was especially a catalyst for our fundraisers.

What a wonderful human being! I regret having not spent more time with her and will always cherish the great memories we did share. It’s going to take some time to get through this one. My thoughts and prayers are with Bobby, the kids and her family.

Marci, we love you and will dearly miss you!

    Peace, sister.

  3. With this beautiful, yet bittersweet day comes to an end-
I find myself still shocked, but inspired to move forward, and do every, single thing better.
To seize each moment, whether it be working or playing. Enjoy our time – and love the people around us.
Love to all who were at the memorial service today -
Love and Blessing to you Marci, your spirit is alive and well in all of us.

  4. And in the sweetness of friendship
let there be laughter, and sharing of pleasures.

I yearn for my friend who has left – but will honor and cherish all our times together and remember them! I pray for comfort to all of us who have lost such an amazing jewel in our lives – pray that she continue to shine down on us with her brightness. And for her family, we will not forget, but help to keep her in our hearts! Peace and many blessings to all who knew Marci – she meant everything to me and us.

  5. Another year has passed without Marci and I watch Trey grow and grow. A pang in my heart strenghthens and tears well in my eyes Marci would be so proud of him.I love and miss you so very much. You were my backbone and my support system. There will never be another “Friend” like you.

  6. Bobby Wilcher gave me a job at Evanston Sound Warehouse in January of 1990 right after my wife Kelly & I moved to Chicago from Tulsa. He gave one to Marci Horwich shortly thereafter (she managed the Video Dept). My wife Kelly & and I grew very close to Bob & Marci and we constantly hung out in Chicago. The concerts, clubs, dinners, Cubs games, you name it, for many years until the babies came along in the later 90’s and we lost all touch with the Wilchers. Was thinking about Marci & Bob today, ran a Yahoo Search, hit this Site and saw this Memorium about Marci having passed on…words cannot express the shock & sorrow at finding out this sad, sad news. Kelly & I are both crushed…I will always remember Marci’s bright smile, infectious laugh, her ability to keep Bob in-line, and how beautiful she looked at her Wedding. Both Bob & Marci touched our lives; I cannot think of a more generous & happy couple than the Wilchers.

Bob, if you happen to read this, please know our thoughts are with you and we miss you greatly…would love to see you again.

    Much Love & Good Wishes
