The Murder Of Fred Hampton • 88 minutes • 1971

Directed by Howard Alk; this documentary on Fred Hampton,
Deputy Chairman of the Illinois Black Panther Party,
is one of the most provocative and persuasive
films I have ever witnessed.
It is a documentary of two subjects:
The brilliance, charisma, wisdom and foresightedness
of twenty-one year old Fred Hampton,
and the brutal murder of this man,
by a special task force of the Illinois police,
on December 4, 1969.
This is a film that should be deemed as a “must see.”
For this is a definitive injustice that is hidden from history.

I’ve got to check that out. And I think they should have gone ahead and put his honorary street sign up in Chicago. The only reason the police were up in arms about it was because they know they lied about the whole thing. Break out the NWA and listen to “Fuck Tha Police” in honor of Fred Hampton. And Huey Newton too!
